Senior Research Manager (AI)

Location: Remote - United States; alternatively based in Washington, DC, New York, NY, or Chicago, IL offices

Salary: $81,700–$130,000 per year, with a midpoint of $105,800; eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant

What you will do

• Own research for a set of client accounts and build relationships that support renewals and new work.
• Manage multiple custom quantitative research projects across the full lifecycle, from kickoff preparation through post-delivery documentation.
• Design surveys, analyze data, develop compelling research stories, and deliver high-quality client-ready work with minimal oversight.
• Identify project risks, downstream client and delivery implications, and expansion opportunities; propose mitigations and research-bank opportunities.
• Collaborate independently with Research Directors, Account Executives, Research Operations, and Sales.
• Coach Research Managers and Research Associates on research craft, service standards, quality expectations, and skill development.
• Use AI in higher-complexity workflows, including multi-wave tracking and cross-tab analysis, and critically review every AI-assisted output.
• Pressure-test processes, propose improvements, and document and share effective practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and analyzing custom quantitative survey research.
• Track record of running complex projects from design through client-ready deliverables with minimal oversight.
• Experience managing client relationships and deepening trust over time.
• Strong methodological knowledge and strong prioritization and project management skills across several concurrent projects.
• Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn findings into a compelling story.
• Uncompromising attention to detail and high technical standards.
• Experience or interest in coaching and developing teammates.
• Comfort with ambiguity and change, openness to new ways of working, and willingness to take feedback, learn, and grow.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in research or analytical work, with sound judgment about when outputs need correction; regular and effective use of AI is expected.
