Commercial Construction Project Manager (Government)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; onsite

Base salary: $96,800–$132,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead commercial government construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
• Create and manage project budgets, schedules, logistics, milestones, monthly owner reports, and quality-control activities.
• Develop and coordinate pre-construction RFP packages and manage RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and subcontractor change orders.
• Conduct project meetings and serve as the primary liaison among clients, project team members, subcontractors, vendors, the superintendent, and site operations.
• Maintain safety documentation and adherence to HITT standards.
• Supervise, coach, train, and educate assistant project management, administrative, MEP, safety, and other operations support staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma required. A four-year degree from an accredited university in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred; additional work experience may substitute for a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Previous project management experience with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to master project-specific software, including Microsoft Office, Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
• Mastery of reading, interpreting, and updating construction project drawings.
• Ability to organize people, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve results.
• Knowledge of current market conditions, pricing conventions, and trends.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, presentation, initiative, integrity, adaptability, collaboration, relationship-building, customer-service, prioritization, multitasking, punctuality, and professional conduct skills.
