DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; ability to commute or travel to a Washington, DC customer site up to 50% of the time. U.S. citizenship and access to U.S.-only and export-controlled data systems are required.

What you will do

• Own build and deployment automation, platform health, scaling, and capacity planning.
• Develop self-service tools and automate workflows to improve data engineering efficiency.
• Build logging and monitoring tools to visualize platform status and strengthen SRE practices.
• Implement secure, robust, and highly available DevOps pipelines.
• Continue building a multi-account AWS environment and automate build and deployment processes.
• Communicate technical trade-offs while supporting systems at scale in commercial and high-side environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or software engineering.
• Experience creating CI/CD processes and automation.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud technology.
• Experience with the PLG stack, Datadog, or other enterprise monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform and Pulumi.
• Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker and scripting languages including Python or Bash.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment and independently.
• Ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies, with strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
• U.S. citizenship, TS/SCI with FSP clearance, and ability to access U.S.-only and export-controlled data systems are required.
• Ability to commute or travel to a Washington, DC customer site up to 50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS GovCloud and data processing for the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Community.
• Experience building CI/CD systems with GitHub Actions and a passion for DevSecOps.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch and hardening and delivering software applications.
• Experience with modern web services architectures and relational databases, including SQL and relational design.
• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts such as overlays, VPNs, and zero-trust networks.
• Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, including work on multifunctional projects with internal engineering partners.
