Senior Accountant

What you will do

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments while supporting the monthly financial close.
• Perform account and bank reconciliations, resolve reconciling items, and review general ledger transactions.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances from budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Monitor cash, treasury, merchant processing, banking, and credit-card activity; forecast cash inflows and balances.
• Prepare audit schedules, maintain internal controls and accounting procedures, and support external audits.
• Lead ERP enhancements, testing, process documentation, system implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven profit improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with monthly financial close processes and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Sage, Epicor, or similar, plus advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, outdoor sporting goods, or related industries.
• Experience supporting organizations with revenues between $25M and $100M.
• Experience with business intelligence tools, financial reporting systems, or process automation initiatives.
• Interest in fly fishing.
