Senior DevOps Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Fully remote; candidates must reside in Alabama, California, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia, and must be available from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Mountain Time. Occasional travel to client sites or company meetings may be required.

Salary: $90,441–$105,000 annual prorated hiring range; the listed full-time salary range is $120,588–$195,955. The position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure and application environments across development, testing, staging, and production.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools, and automate environment provisioning and deployments.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, validation, rollback, and release coordination.
• Configure networking, storage, compute, containers, runtime environments, security controls, secrets management, IAM, encryption, and audit logging.
• Build observability through centralized logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, quality gates, and deployment validation; monitor systems and participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Partner with application engineers on production delivery and contribute to backend services, APIs, microservices, secure data exchange, integrations, service orchestration, documentation, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure and application environments.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, deployment, and rollback processes.
• Experience with cloud networking, storage, compute, containers, and environment provisioning.
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability through centralized logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Hands-on experience with cloud and application security, including secrets management, encryption, IAM, vulnerability management, and access controls.
• Experience supporting production applications through incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, backup and recovery, failover, disaster recovery, and operational-readiness practices.
• Strong backend software engineering experience with APIs, services, or microservices; experience supporting integrations and secure data exchange.
• Experience deploying and operating software with application engineers, documenting infrastructure and operational procedures, and delivering software using Agile practices.
• Ability to work from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Mountain Time.
• Advanced application proficiency, analytical and synthetic thinking, adaptability, ownership, consultative advising, persuasive communication, and client-priority management.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person, work in an office environment, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
