Sr. Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Architect and develop robust distributed systems in Python and AWS for high-volume data processing.
• Own and support email processing flows, service integrations, Kafka clusters, data lakes, and other critical business systems.
• Balance scale, latency, and cost while processing highly sensitive data and applying secure data-handling practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, contribute to product direction, and shape Defender’s future.
• Provide actionable feedback, mentor peers, and improve team effectiveness.
• Lead cross-team projects from conception through production deployment.

Requirements

• Extensive backend development experience; the codebase is Python, with consideration for candidates transitioning from Java or .NET.
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working at scale and solving diverse technical challenges.
• Product-focused mindset with an understanding of how technical decisions affect customers and the organization.
• Ability to identify and solve problems proactively before they affect progress.
• Ability to lead and shape the technical direction of projects in alignment with business goals.
• Mentoring experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
