Agile Program Manager

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States; 100% onsite. U.S. citizenship is required under the federal contract, and the candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Compensation: $150,000.00–$160,000.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead the strategic direction and operational execution of the Agile transformation program across multiple teams.
• Drive team maturity through assessment frameworks, coaching plans, metrics, and recommendations beyond velocity and throughput.
• Maintain the Agile playbook and ensure consistent application across teams, Agile Coaches, and Scrum Masters.
• Establish governance through documentation standards, stakeholder engagement rhythms, risk management, and resource management systems.
• Provide transparent status reporting, data-driven progress insights, and proactive communication to sponsors and business stakeholders.
• Shape program strategy by assessing effectiveness, piloting innovative practices, and aligning team outputs with business outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 5+ years leading enterprise Agile transformations.
• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience coaching teams.
• At least 3+ years of project/program management or systems engineering experience managing complex initiatives.
• Direct experience leading Agile transformations in federal or private-sector environments.
• Direct experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Deep understanding of SAFe and expertise in multiple Agile frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar, with the ability to adapt practices to organizational culture.
• Experience defining and implementing Agile maturity models and assessment frameworks.
• Strategic thinking, organizational change leadership, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience building sustainable governance models, including documentation standards, engagement rhythms, and risk management.
• Excellent communication skills, including status reporting, presentations, and facilitation.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Industry-leading Agile practitioner certification, such as Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMP-ACP, or SAFe certification.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
