IT Systems Administrator

Location: 100% onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Must be a US citizen and willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Contract position for 12–18 months with an option to extend or convert.

Federal defense contractor supporting mission-critical national defense infrastructure.

What you will do

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain servers and manage hardware and software configurations.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks for automated configuration management.
• Drive continuous monitoring through weekly audit and media reviews and monthly vulnerability scans.
• Execute security testing and evaluation and partner with Cyber Engineering to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Lead incident response and remediation and maintain alignment with internal security policies and the System Security Plan from deployment through decommissioning.

Requirements

• US citizenship and willingness and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized STEM area or equivalent plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to pass a background check covering criminal, credit, education, employment, and drug testing.
• Experience administering RHEL and Windows systems and installing and configuring servers.
• Experience with system security assessment and hardening tools, including SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, and ACAS/Nessus, plus understanding of STIGs and vulnerability resolution.
• Knowledge of Ansible and experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.
• Experience with third-party software installation and setup for system functionality and cybersecurity services, Identity Manager, Domain Administration, and VMware.
• Experience with Bash and Python scripting, Docker administration, general network administration, DHCP, and NFS setup.
• Training and proficiency in Assured File Transfer procedures and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
