What you will do

• Design detailed mechanical components and sub-assemblies for an autonomous delivery vehicle.
• Build production-quality 3D CAD models and drawings and present designs in cross-functional reviews.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to integrate designs for manufacturing, assembly, servicing, and fleet-scale operation.
• Validate designs through prototype builds, bench testing, tolerance analysis, and structural analysis.
• Incorporate feedback from mentors, managers, and cross-functional partners into design decisions.

Requirements

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering.
• No more than 2 years of full-time work experience and availability to start in May or June 2027; internships are hosted only during the summer.
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD, such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA; NX is preferred.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and the ability to use first principles, calculations, simulation, and test data to support design decisions.
• Demonstrated interest in mechanical design through coursework, team projects such as Formula SAE or robotics clubs, or personal builds.
• Ability to work independently on assigned design tasks and interest in learning how products are designed, built, and operated at scale.
