Senior Legal Counsel (f/m/d) (AI)

Location: Hybrid working from hirify.global hubs in Berlin, Germany or London, United Kingdom; working from another country where hirify.global has an office is also possible.

What you will do

• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex, high-value commercial agreements, including MSAs, SaaS and platform terms, partnership agreements, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Advise commercial teams across regions on risk-weighted, business-focused legal matters involving advertisers, publishers, agencies, technology partners, and vendors.
• Advise on cross-jurisdictional corporate, commercial, competition, intellectual property, regulatory, and data protection matters across EU, UK, US, and other international frameworks.
• Support M&A and strategic transactions from due diligence and transaction documentation through corporate approvals and post-merger integration.
• Manage disputes, litigation, subpoenas, and third-party information requests with external counsel.
• Shape the use of AI in Legal, improve templates and playbooks, streamline legal processes, and deliver practical training to non-lawyers.

Requirements

• Qualification as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales and/or admission to practise as an attorney in a US state.
• 5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally in-house in an international business or at a law firm handling comparable commercial work.
• Strong experience in complex commercial negotiations, ideally in affiliate or performance marketing, or a related sector such as technology, SaaS, AdTech, or e-commerce.
• Solid M&A experience, including due diligence, transaction documentation, and post-closing integration.
• Native or native-level English with excellent drafting and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal, technical, and business matters clearly to non-lawyers.
• A keen interest in AI and confidence using AI tools in daily work.
• A pragmatic, hands-on, open-minded, and business-enabling approach.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters independently, maintain quality under tight deadlines, and adapt to constant change.
• A collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships across functions and regions.

Nice to have

• Experience with US commercial contracts, litigation, subpoenas, and dispute resolution.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws.
• Additional language skills such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
• Knowledge of AI regulation and governance, including the EU AI Act.
• Experience with contract management systems, Asana, or other legal tools.
