Staff Web Developer (Product and UX)

Location: Hybrid position based in Central Ohio; on-site availability is required for meetings, planning, project coordination, collaboration, and other job-related responsibilities.

Salary: $80K–$90K per year, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Develop, test, deploy, modernize, and maintain custom websites, web applications, reusable components, templates, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, accessible, secure, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot, test, resolve, and document bugs, accessibility issues, production problems, and other technical needs.
• Participate in technical planning, solution design, quality assurance, code reviews, releases, and improvements to existing applications.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify user needs and risks, and deliver functional web solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, status, risks, and recommendations, maintain documentation, share knowledge, and track assigned client-contract work.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong front-end development skills with HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, responsive layouts, and reusable interface components.
• Experience with Bootstrap, jQuery, Alpine JS, Livewire, Laravel, Laravel Filament, NPM, and Laravel Mix or similar tools.
• Experience with Gitflow, pull requests, code review, testing, release practices, and collaborative development workflows.
• Working knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Ability to analyze requirements, ask clarifying questions, identify risks or gaps, provide technical recommendations, and deliver solutions within established priorities and timelines.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage web content and interface details accurately and consistently, adapt to changing technologies, and adopt new systems and approaches quickly.
• Clear criminal record documentation in compliance with state statute and compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or maintaining component-based interfaces, design systems, or shared front-end patterns.
• Experience with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools for interface planning and collaboration.
• Experience with user-centered design, usability testing, product discovery, or related UX practices.
