Head of UK Legal (Digital Assets)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid work from the London office three days a week and remote work two days a week.

What you will do

• Lead the UK legal function as the primary legal contact for the OKX UK entity and advise the UK CEO, stakeholders, and global legal colleagues.
• Support UK business expansion, licensing efforts, regulatory strategy, government and regulatory relations, and industry consultation activities.
• Advise across product development, regulatory matters, intellectual property and trademark enforcement, corporate governance, token listings, contracts, compliance, institutional sales, partnerships, and marketing and advertising.
• Analyze legal risks associated with new and existing digital assets and manage the legal component of the new asset review process.
• Represent the legal function at relevant Board and committee meetings and participate in the UK management team.
• Collaborate with product, business development, and other teams while managing legal requests and advising on legal risk in line with strategic business goals.

Requirements

• Law degree from a top-tier law school and qualification to practice law in the UK.
• 14+ years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or financial services.
• Experience advising on digital asset and blockchain technology legal issues, with a basic understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape.
• Experience working with the Financial Conduct Authority and obtaining UK financial services and/or crypto exchange licenses.
• Experience with financial services and digital asset regulation, UK licensing, marketing and advertising, and contract law.
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and within a global legal team.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multicultural environment and navigate a rapidly changing legal landscape and legal ambiguity.
• Ability to advise and build trust with business teams and collaborate effectively within a high-functioning legal team.
• Self-starter with strong learning ability, drive, proactivity, responsiveness, and precision.
