(Senior) Business Controller

What you will do

• Own unit economics calculation methodologies, reporting, and analyses for planned and actual profitability per subscription.
• Analyze Gross Margin P&L line items, explain deviations against plan, manage provisions, and track profitability improvement initiatives.
• Lead tactical Demand & Supply Steering by balancing demand generation, fleet availability, utilization, and profitability.
• Evaluate financial trade-offs and translate demand and supply forecasts into fleet planning and steering recommendations.
• Contribute to monthly management and board reporting with commentary on performance, drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decisions and sustainable growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Controlling, Financial Analysis, or Business Intelligence within a fast-paced scale-up, tech company, top-tier consulting firm, or Big 4 environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and P&L management.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel, with strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Excellent fluent English communication skills at C1/C2 level, with the ability to explain complex financial topics clearly to key stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, financial reporting software such as LucaNet, or ERP systems such as SAP.
• Fluent or professional German language skills.
