Junior Controller (FP&A)

Location: Cologne, Germany; work from home may be arranged for up to 20 days per year anywhere in the EU.

What you will do

• Support budgets, forecasts, long-term financial plans, business cases, and scenario analyses.
• Prepare monthly financial analyses, performance reports, management presentations, KPI dashboards, and recurring financial reports.
• Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts, identify variances, and investigate underlying business drivers.
• Support month-end closing by preparing reports, validating financial data, and coordinating with Accounting and Business Controlling.
• Automate and standardize reporting, forecasting, and planning processes using modern finance tools.
• Explore AI-driven solutions, improve data quality, implement FP&A tools, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and genuine interest in financial planning, business performance, data analytics, and digital technologies.
• Excellent numerical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Curiosity about using AI and automation to improve finance processes and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, and SQL.
• Skills in Python and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
• German language skills.
