Senior Software Engineer - Remote (Python/Go)

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale a Fleet Operations Platform for thousands of compute machines and millions of customer workloads.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership within the Compute Platform Team.
• Develop software running on hosts in data centers and improve internal systems and processes.
• Build comprehensive, largely automated functional and regression test suites for fault tolerance and error handling.
• Troubleshoot upgrade failures, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and resolve edge cases across the hypervisor and Linux host stack.

Requirements

• Extensive relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for backend automation, REST APIs, and CLI scripting, plus experience with SQL databases for state and metadata tracking.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling microservices architectures in production environments.
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems, virtualization, KVM, and live migrations.
• Experience evaluating data using statistics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
• Ability to discuss abstract software architectures from ideas through implementation and apply domain experience to solve technical challenges.
• Collaborative approach to joint problem-solving in an agile/Scrum environment.
