Senior Software Engineer in EMEA (Go)

Location: Remote in EMEA; company location listed as Santa Monica, California, US.

Rain develops an AI financial health platform serving employees of organizations including McDonald's, Marriott, and T-Mobile, with products spanning banking, payroll, and timekeeping.

What you will do

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering initiatives.
• Design and implement reliable systems and applications in a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries, enforce observability through logging, metrics, and alerting, and maintain technical documentation.
• Monitor systems and improve performance, scalability, and release reliability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to own projects from concept to completion, proactively identifying challenges and solutions.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with complex, large-scale distributed systems and user-facing applications.
• Proficiency in Go/Golang and Python, with strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, including data model design and optimization.
• Experience with message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; serverless technologies; Docker; Kubernetes; and ECS.
• Experience with release management for zero-downtime deployments and CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
