Cloud & Infrastructure Solution Architect

Location: Hybrid role in Buffalo, New York, United States; regular travel to the Buffalo Seneca One hub is required, with onsite work one week per month.

Salary: $116,400–$194,000 annual USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy end-to-end technology solutions with Agile teams.
• Develop secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable architectures aligned with enterprise standards, business objectives, and operational practices.
• Create and maintain solution architecture documents, conceptual and logical designs, technical specifications, infrastructure diagrams, network diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
• Partner with application owners, software engineers, infrastructure teams, platform engineering teams, Enterprise Architects, and technology leadership.
• Evaluate solution options, communicate recommendations, tradeoffs, risks, and benefits, and participate in architecture governance, design reviews, and technology planning.
• Support cloud migration, application modernization, infrastructure modernization, reusable enterprise capabilities, and technology transformation initiatives while following risk, regulatory, and internal control standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience without a degree.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions in a Solution Architect, Cloud Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Systems Architect, or similar architecture role.
• Hands-on experience designing solutions with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience creating architecture artifacts, including solution architecture documents, technical designs, infrastructure diagrams, network diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
• Experience supporting cloud migration, application modernization, infrastructure modernization, or technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience in software, platform, infrastructure, or service engineering and delivery, including application development and integration using architecture principles, design patterns, and enterprise standards.
• Understanding of networking, compute, storage, security, resiliency, and cloud-native architecture concepts.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, supportable, and secure technology solutions; research modern technology trends; and evaluate multiple approaches to complex technical problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple organizational levels, with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience in at least two technical disciplines, including cloud engineering, software engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.
• Experience designing and supporting hybrid cloud environments using Azure and AWS.
• Experience presenting architecture recommendations to technology leadership and stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with application development teams, platform engineering teams, infrastructure organizations, and technology leaders.
• Experience supporting cloud adoption, data center transformation, infrastructure modernization, or enterprise technology initiatives.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or other architecture and cloud certifications.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and recommending architecture approaches aligned with enterprise strategy and standards.
