Senior Analyst, North American Corporate Real Estate Ratings - Toronto

Location: Toronto; hybrid work environment with four days in the office each week and required travel.

Salary: CAD 65,000–90,000 base salary; 15% annual incentive target.

What you will do

• Perform credit analysis, including financial statement analysis, with guidance from lead analysts.
• Maintain historical results and financial projections for debt issuers in financial spreadsheets.
• Support portfolio management, ongoing credit surveillance, quarterly reviews, and ad hoc analysis.
• Contribute analysis and text to credit rating reports, press releases, and commentaries, progressing toward independent drafting.
• Assist with rating committee materials and research industry trends affecting real estate asset classes.
• Develop client-communication skills while following regulatory requirements, record-keeping standards, training, and company policies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis, research, or investment banking.
• Some understanding of the Canadian real estate sector and the core real estate industries.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Extensive understanding of financial statements and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Initiative-taking and collaborative approach, with the ability to work in a demanding environment.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Undergraduate or master’s degree in business, finance, or an analytical field of study.
