Java Backend Engineer (IoT)

Location: Allerød, Denmark; hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.

hirify.global builds and operates an IoT connectivity platform for connecting and managing devices across mobile networks worldwide.

What you will do

• Build the next generation of IoT eSIM capabilities, including support for the GSMA SGP.32 standard and remote network-profile switching at scale.
• Develop AI-driven network analysis that identifies connectivity issues and anomalies across devices and networks.
• Design and operate event-driven distributed systems on Kafka, processing continuous device and network events.
• Build REST APIs with OpenAPI and integrate with telecom operators and IoT device vendors through REST, SOAP, and proprietary protocols.
• Implement observability, automated system tests, CI/CD, and GitOps practices to support reliable production deployments.
• Own services in production, including participation in a rolling on-call rotation and resolving critical incidents.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional experience building software with Java and Spring.
• Fluent Danish and English, spoken and written.
• Pragmatic and open-minded approach to problem-solving.
• Constructive approach to giving and receiving feedback, with an interest in contributing to technical decisions.
• Enjoys close collaboration and shipping in small, frequent iterations.
