Mid Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. Hybrid work with a minimum of two days per week in the Copenhagen office and up to three days working remotely.

What you will do

• Design, build, extend, and consume REST APIs and solutions for the OTC asset management product.
• Implement new features and maintain established solutions supporting uninterrupted client operations.
• Understand, refactor, and modernize legacy code without disrupting the business it supports.
• Improve system quality, performance, scalability, user experience, automation, and operational resilience.
• Collaborate with the product owner and cross-functional engineering team to refine requirements, design solutions, review code, pair, and share ownership.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Requirements

• Good C# skills; C# is the core language for the role.
• Experience with or genuine interest in functional programming, with willingness to learn new languages and paradigms.
• Experience with or strong interest in refactoring existing code and working with legacy systems.
• Interest in developing innovative features for a complex platform, including API scalability, automation, performance, and operational resilience.
• Good collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
• A relevant degree in Computer Science or STEM, with demonstrated hands-on software engineering experience.
• Motivation to work in the financial domain and comfort working closely with a cross-functional team.
• Ability to identify technical debt and drive incremental improvement.
• Collaborative approach with willingness to share knowledge and learn from team members.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with OCaml or APL.
• Familiarity with F#, Standard ML, Scala, or Haskell.
