Operations Specialist- Global Fee & Billing, AVP (Asset Management)

What you will do

• Deliver Portfolio Services and Global Fee & Billing processes across Trailer Fees, Management Fees, billing, invoicing, efee calculations, and invoice verification.
• Manage daily BAU processes, controls, exception management, incident management, KPI/KRI monitoring, and operational escalations.
• Partner with Technology, Finance, Coverage, custodians, vendors, and other service providers to resolve operational issues and maintain service quality.
• Strengthen process ownership, documentation, audit readiness, operational risk management, and governance frameworks.
• Identify and implement workflow standardisation, automation, AI, data analytics, predictive controls, reconciliation, prioritisation, and operational reporting improvements.
• Support readiness for market and regulatory changes, new products, migrations, vendor changes, and platform enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in financial services operations, ideally with strong exposure to Portfolio Services, Middle Office, Investment Operations, or related asset management functions.
• Strong understanding of Asset Management Fee & Billing activities, including Management Fees, Trailer Fees, Billing, and Invoicing.
• Good knowledge of investment products, financial instruments, and operational processes across the asset management value chain, including impacts on funds, portfolios, clients, counterparties, and external service providers.
• Experience investigating complex operational issues, performing root-cause analysis, coordinating remediation, and driving sustainable resolution across teams, regions, and service providers.
• Ability to operate in a global matrix environment, communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and build partnerships with Technology, Finance, Coverage, custodians, vendors, and third parties.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, governance, audit readiness, regulatory obligations, and process ownership in a controlled Operations environment.
• Strong analytical skills, practical data analysis techniques, and the ability to translate operational data into insights, controls, and management information.
• Practical understanding of AI, automation, and data analytics concepts, including identifying Operations use cases and partnering with Technology to deliver them responsibly.
• Ability to bridge operational subject matter expertise with technology and AI teams and translate business requirements into pragmatic, controlled, and measurable solutions.
• Proactive approach to identifying control gaps and improving data quality frameworks.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and optimise workflows while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with operational event processing, exception management, fee oversight, or invoice oversight processes.
• Experience with investment operations platforms, fee and billing platforms, workflow tools, or similar operations technology.
• Experience with process automation, workflow design, digital tooling, Python, Power Automate, SQL, data visualisation tools, or similar technologies.
