Manager, Engineering, Dev AI (AI)

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.

Salary: $212,000–$265,000 USD base pay, with possible bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Shape and drive the AI for Developers strategy with Staff and Senior Staff engineers, aligning architecture trade-offs and product direction.
• Guide the balance between emerging AI innovation and measurable developer impact.
• Act as a champion, expert, coach, and consultant to help teams and leaders adopt AI capabilities in daily development workflows.
• Build relationships with partner teams and stakeholders and establish working agreements.
• Coach and mentor the engineering team with empathy while supporting growth in roles and responsibilities.
• Contribute to broader organizational culture and processes with a first-team mentality.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a full-time manager.
• Experience supporting and coaching Staff+ engineers, ideally multiple, as well as Senior engineers.
• Experience managing a remote or distributed team.
• Prior experience building developer infrastructure, tooling, or platforms, ideally at scale and using commonly adopted industry tools, frameworks, or systems.
• Experience applying AI technologies to real-world software development challenges.
• Ability to ramp up quickly in new domains, technologies, or programming languages, with enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional partnerships and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Developer infrastructure, tooling, or platform experience at scale.
• Experience with tools, frameworks, or systems commonly used in the industry.
