TL;DR

Manager, Finance (Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting): Managing statutory and management reporting for Australian entities with an accent on month-end close, audit coordination, complex transactions, and compliance with AASB and IFRS. Focus on preparing technical accounting assessments, improving reporting processes and controls, and supporting asset, funding, and expansion-related transactions.

Location: hirify.global HQ, North Sydney, Australia; 7-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave.

What you will do

Support month-end close and prepare or review monthly reporting, variance analyses, and consolidation schedules for Australian entities.
Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and Australian Accounting Standards, including consistent accounting treatment across entities.
Prepare statutory financial statements, coordinate audit requests, and liaise with external auditors through year-end audits.
Perform accounting analysis for acquisitions, divestments, restructures, funding arrangements, asset recycling, and other Australian transactions.
Prepare technical accounting memos and collaborate with Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and external auditors.
Improve reporting processes, internal controls, documentation, workflows, automation, and system enhancements across Australian entities.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant with CA, CPA, or equivalent certification.
8–10 years of experience in financial reporting, controllership, or technical accounting.
Strong knowledge of AASB and IFRS, including experience with complex transactions and accounting position papers.
Experience in statutory reporting, month-end close, and audit management.
Proven team leadership and coaching experience, including managing small, high-performing teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner with Group, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and external audit stakeholders.
Strategic, hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
