Auditor - Stores & Hotels

Location: Sydney, NSW, with hybrid/office-based work and travel across Australia; travel required for at least one week per month

What you will do

• Lead and execute audits across stores and hotels, assessing operational control risks and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Analyze operational data to uncover business insights and determine root causes of control breakdowns.
• Prepare clear audit reports covering individual audit risks and quarterly executive reporting.
• Follow up on audit observations and monitor the implementation of agreed management action plans.
• Improve Internal Audit processes, methodologies, and tools while building collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in retail or hospitality management, or an operational support role.
• Ability and willingness to travel intra- and interstate for at least one week per month.
• Experience interpreting data, evaluating risks against key controls, and conducting root cause analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build trust with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of operational processes and their interconnections across a commercial business.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, curious, and able to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
• Experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
• Interest in developing knowledge of internal audit methodologies.
