Senior Software Engineer (Java/Python, Cybersecurity)

Location: Dallas, Texas only; hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Code complex application components according to design specifications, programming standards, and development methodologies.
• Design, develop, and debug software while ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• Deliver full-cycle software development across requirements, development, automation, support, and release launches.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Customer Success, QA, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, analysts, architects, and developers.
• Participate in planning sessions and daily Scrum meetings, adapting to changing requirements and delivering on schedule.
• Enhance and establish SDLC automation within an Agile Scrum framework and help identify security threats and delivery bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in software design, development, and automation, including complex systems and embedded systems.
• Experience developing RESTful web services and APIs, Spring applications, and unit tests using JUnit or TestNG.
• Experience in an Agile environment and a good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, multithreading, callbacks, scalability concepts, databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Understanding of web services, RESTful APIs, Rest Assured, XML, JSON schemas, documents, validation, and parsing.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, Maven, GitHub, New Relic, Kibana, Splunk, Swagger, Kong Dashboard, Postman, and JIRA.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices, plus excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of cybersecurity and network penetration testing, including Man-in-the-Middle attacks, SSL stripping techniques, network vulnerability assessment, rogue access points, and reconnaissance scans.
