Senior Manager, IT Business Technology (SAP)

Location: Hybrid, working remotely and from Oakland, California, 3 days per week or more based on business or company requirements.

Salary: $163,000–$277,000 per year; Bay Area midpoint: $220,000.

What you will do

• Lead SAP Basis and change control teams, setting goals, coordinating priorities, and driving delivery across critical projects.
• Own SAP environment strategy, including capacity planning, system sizing, scheduling, provisioning, refreshes, testing, cutover, go-live, and operational transition.
• Lead non-SAP environment readiness for SIT and UAT, covering provisioning, connectivity, security and access, data preparation, refreshes, and integration validation.
• Establish readiness reporting, metrics, and dashboards covering status, risks, and dependencies across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Drive SAP S/4HANA integration strategy, SAP landscape operations, RISE subscription sizing, SAP BTP consumption, capacity forecasting, and Clean Core-aligned technical roadmaps.
• Manage SAP ECS governance, SLAs, escalations, release and change management, operational improvements, and team performance through coaching and feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of overall IT experience, ideally supporting large and complex SAP systems.
• Broad technical architecture knowledge across SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, and SAP cloud applications such as SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, and Fieldglass.
• Experience operating in highly complex, heterogeneous enterprise environments with large-scale SAP and non-SAP landscapes, integrated systems, and extensive dependencies.
• Ability to engage stakeholders, manage system delivery and environment readiness for enterprise test cycles and go-live, and drive disciplined execution across integrated SAP landscapes.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• 5+ years in SAP technical delivery leadership roles, including SAP Basis and/or SAP BTP.
• Two full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations, including at least one RISE with SAP Private Cloud Edition implementation and production cutover.
• Strong knowledge of the RISE shared responsibility model across SAP ECS, hyperscalers, system integrators, and customer teams.
• Hands-on SAP Activate experience and familiarity with Waterfall, Hybrid, and Agile delivery models used by system integrators.
• SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Architecture, or RISE-related certifications.
