Sr Analytics Consultant - Health Economics

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, Illinois, or Richardson, Texas, United States; Flex employees are expected to work in the office at least three days per week. Relocation will not be offered.

Base pay: $84,400–$152,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Provide analytic support and consulting for HCSC's largest commercial clients and internal senior-leader stakeholders.
• Analyze population health, insurance costs and drivers, medical claims and related healthcare datasets.
• Lead external client engagements and internal analytic projects from business problem definition through execution.
• Present findings to C-Suite stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams to address cost and health drivers.
• Design and maintain standard data layers, develop coding standards and documentation, and troubleshoot analytic development challenges.
• Help scale and internally market impactful client engagements for broader organizational use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience, Master's degree plus 4 years, PhD plus 2 years, or 10 years of experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis, insurance industry economics or a related field.
• Expert understanding of and high proficiency in querying healthcare and population data, including medical and pharmacy claims, behavioral health claims, health care management records, electronic medical records, provider databases, member and patient demographics, and public databases.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL, Python, R or similar computer languages.
• Ability to create dynamic, visually engaging dashboards using Tableau, Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
• Strong business intelligence and ability to take a business case from inception through customer or partner execution.
• Experience leading an analytic initiative to success and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation and influencing skills with C-Suite executives, including the ability to deliver high-quality output under pressure and within short timelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Master's degree and 5 years of experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis or insurance industry economics, including 3 years analyzing medical claims data.
• Experience using case-control studies, regression analysis, principal component analysis, clustering, propensity scoring, classification and ROI calculations to produce actionable insights.
• Experience with Databricks, project management methodologies, and version-control or collaborative tools.
