Video Editor (AI)

Location: Remote US

Base salary range: $150,000–$200,000 per year

Product company building a database platform with Postgres and Vitess/MySQL databases for businesses handling data and workloads of all sizes.

What you will do

• Edit and animate YouTube videos, including explainers and interviews.
• Create short-form vertical clips for social platforms.
• Edit conference talks, event clips, launch videos, case studies, and other video content.
• Create thumbnails, title cards, typography, and motion graphics.
• Work closely with the Marketing team to shape ideas before editing and iterate quickly on feedback.
• Experiment with AI and new tools to improve the speed and quality of video production.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong editing across formats, including YouTube, short-form content, or podcasts.
• Strong sense of pacing, structure, and story, with the ability to select and arrange footage to maintain audience engagement.
• Comfort with editing, animation, and design, including visual storytelling and clean, expressive typography for different screen sizes.
• Fluency in professional editing tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
• Experience using AI tools for animation and editing, plus curiosity about expanding their use in video workflows.
• Ability to create custom scripts and use AI to automate pipeline tasks such as transcription, thumbnail ideation, and rough edits of large amounts of footage.

• Background in software development or experience working with engineering companies.
• Experience editing technology or developer content.
• A channel or account grown independently.
• Experience with code-driven video tools such as Remotion.
• Strong thumbnail and title creation skills.
• Sound design and audio mixing skills.
• Experience shooting or directing footage.
• Livestream or live event production experience.
