Operations Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. U.S. citizenship is required; dual citizens may not be considered. Relocation assistance is not available for internship positions.

Salary: $20.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems.
• Design and document hardware while considering manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.
• Fabricate and assemble prototypes using machining, rapid prototyping, and circuit card assembly facilities.
• Implement tests, perform technical analyses, and prepare reports with plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
• Support process development, continuous improvement, hardware tracking, yield analysis, and metrics.
• Interact with engineers, technicians, external suppliers, and specialized facilities such as materials characterization and metrology.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum.
• Current college student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with 3D CAD packages, including PTC Creo and/or SolidWorks.
• Experience with machined parts and GD&T.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
