Junior Azure DevOps Engineer

Location: Fully onsite in Redmond, WA, United States.

Salary: $40–$45 per hour for candidates based in Washington State.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and software build, testing, packaging, deployment, and release workflows.
• Develop Python scripts and automation tools to reduce manual work and improve engineering and operational efficiency.
• Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure, development environments, IaC, configuration automation, dependencies, credentials, secrets, and deployment settings.
• Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, health checks, and operational workflows; troubleshoot build, deployment, infrastructure, networking, and environment issues.
• Support containerized applications and collaborate with software engineers and technical stakeholders to improve development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Create technical documentation and troubleshooting guides, and evaluate tools that improve automation and infrastructure management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD, build engineering, or release engineering.
• Strong Python programming and scripting skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform, Git, and modern source control workflows.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.
• Understanding of software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure, build, deployment, and environment issues.
• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating environments.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions, with strong technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Ansible.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting solutions.
• Familiarity with networking, identity and access management, certificates, secrets management, and cloud security.
• Experience supporting development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Experience building automation for AI model training, deployment pipelines, or other machine learning engineering workflows.
• Experience working in large-scale technology or enterprise engineering environments.
