CAPEX Sr Buyer

Location: On-site at Piedras Negras ICP, Mexico, with travel to Matamoros as required.

What you will do

• Lead sourcing projects across indirect procurement categories and consolidate and rationalize the supplier base.
• Develop plant-specific sourcing strategies for a reliable, competitive, and sustainable supply base.
• Manage supplier performance in cost, quality, and delivery, including business reviews and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Develop and execute annual cost reduction plans using cost models, commercial negotiations, and supplier optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Plant Operations, and internal stakeholders to implement cost-saving projects and align procurement strategies.
• Monitor procurement KPIs, savings performance, and supplier improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with Mexico’s Indirect Procurement Policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, or purchasing.
• Strong experience in CAPEX procurement and project management.
• Knowledge of suppliers and market conditions in northern Mexico.
• Proven experience in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier performance management.
• Strong analytical skills, including developing cost models, evaluating commercial proposals, and identifying savings opportunities.
• Experience with SAP and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other procurement reporting tools.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-management skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
