Senior Director, Medical Education

Location: Remote within the United States; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Salary: $110,000–$200,000 annually, with a possible annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Recruit, vet, train, and manage contracted physician and clinician subject matter experts across medical specialties and writing functions.
• Develop onboarding materials, contributor guidelines, quality benchmarks, and replacement pipelines for the subject matter expert network.
• Partner with product and content teams on roadmaps, gap analyses, new product development, product modifications, sunset decisions, and content initiatives.
• Coordinate input from marketing, customer research, and customer success with product and content teams.
• Serve as the chief medical subject matter expert for the Comprehensive Medical Ontology and oversee systematic medical accuracy reviews.
• Manage two internal subject matter experts and provide medical input to marketing and customer success when needed.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree and board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a closely related specialty.
• At least 8–10 years of teaching experience at an accredited medical school or graduate medical education program.
• Experience writing and editing USMLE-style Step 1 and Step 2 CK assessment items.
• Experience managing and quality-controlling medical content at scale.
• Familiarity with USMLE blueprint structure, exam construction standards, and clinical vignette pedagogy.
• Experience using AI in education content development and understanding its use by students and faculty.
• Strong medical and scientific writing fluency.
• Experience managing contracted faculty or distributed subject matter expert networks.
• Familiarity with online synchronous and asynchronous curriculum design.
• Experience in a corporate, publishing, or entrepreneurial environment.
• Familiarity with LCME and COCA accreditation frameworks.
• Medical authority, editorial judgment, organizational rigor, cross-functional collaboration, strategic perspective, and effectiveness in remote work.
