Software Engineer - Backend (AI)

Location: Seattle, United States; on-site

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year; stock options may be offered in addition.

Deploy is an AI intelligence infrastructure platform providing access to open-source and proprietary AI models, optimized inference, and AI-powered solutions for content safety, deepfake detection, sponsorship intelligence, and IP and publicity protection.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and improve backend systems, including REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, and distributed task and job processing systems.
• Write and maintain scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable code shared across platforms.
• Contribute to product and core backend improvements while raising engineering standards, tooling, processes, and security practices.
• Practice test-driven development and debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed to resolve critical technical issues.
• Apply OWASP Top 10 techniques, follow information-asset protection policies, and report suspected security or policy violations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• A few years of experience building web applications.
• Experience or strong interest in developing applications with Node.
• Experience implementing highly available distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience building scalable backend APIs.
• Experience with relational databases; Postgres is preferred.
• Strong commitment to high code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Attention to detail, passion for correctness, comfort learning new technologies and systems, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias toward action.
