Project Manager (Low Carbon Ammonia)

Location: Modeste, LA, United States; frequent on-site work in an outdoor chemical plant environment and travel to Italy, OEM facilities, and other domestic and international locations as needed.

What you will do

• Define project scope, prepare cost estimates, execution schedules, documentation, cash flow projections, and routine project reports.
• Coordinate engineering teams, outside engineering firms, construction management resources, project assurance studies, and project controls.
• Prepare bid packages, evaluate proposals, recommend awards, and requisition equipment, materials, and services.
• Manage packaged equipment and process unit packages through specifications, procurement, vendor management, logistics, installation, commissioning, and startup support.
• Review construction documentation for compliance, constructability, and operability; control scope changes and obtain approval for deviations.
• Incorporate EHS requirements, participate in risk assessments and HAZOP studies, and monitor safe project construction and site operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in operations or engineering at CF, a comparable chemical manufacturing company, or an appropriate engineering and technology services provider.
• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong management skills, including team leadership, decision-making, prioritization, and independent execution.
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple cultures and time zones, verbally and in writing.
• Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts and schedules supporting 24/7 operations during erection, commissioning, startups, shutdowns, upsets, inspections, and turnarounds.
• Strong personal responsibility for project safety, cost, and schedule performance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Primavera, ICARUS, or equivalent scheduling and estimating software.
• Knowledge of capital work process management, including WBS/CBS/SBS, EVM, and project controls.
• Ability and willingness to climb stairs and ladders, collect field data, enter process equipment for inspections, and work outdoors in a chemical plant environment to monitor construction progress.
• Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) and pass random or for-cause drug and alcohol testing.

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• 5+ years of capital project development and/or execution experience.
• 5+ years of in-plant experience, whether permanent or through periodic temporary assignments.
