Supervisor Paint Engineer

What you will do

• Support painting and chemical bath processes to maintain equipment uptime, production goals, and product quality.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Work and Work Instructions for new and existing equipment.
• Identify opportunities and lead projects that improve productivity and quality, reduce costs, and support on-time delivery.
• Lead financial justifications, installations, process modifications, and improvements for new equipment.
• Optimize process center layouts and designs with operators, team leaders, value stream managers, and planners, incorporating material flow and line balancing.
• Resolve equipment problems with maintenance and operators and coordinate with Product Development on new product launches into high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish are required.
• Ideally 5+ years of experience as a supervisor, Senior Paint Engineer, or in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of chemical pretreatment, including parameter measurement and control, control sheets, scheduled cleaning, rinse aids, and sprayers.
• Knowledge of drying and curing ovens, including temperature settings, gas consumption, temperature profiles, airflow, vents, dampers, speeds, product exposure, and cleanliness.
• Knowledge of paint room application equipment, including guns, modules, pots or feeders, pumps, fluidization beds, particle sizes, recycling and mixing, cartridge and final filters, airflow, operating parameters, maintenance, and production parts.
• Knowledge of conveyor capacity, lubrication maintenance, and semi-annual cleaning of rotating hooks for material grounding.
• Knowledge of reverse osmosis and pretreatment systems, softeners, multimedia filters, activated carbon, operating parameters, and log sheets.
• Knowledge of waste treatment systems, including neutralization parameters, operation, and maintenance of filter presses, plus general foam application and screen-printing processes.
