C#/.NET Software Engineer (Azure)

Location: Rockville, Maryland, United States; hybrid with 2 days a week onsite.

Salary: $105,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy scalable, reliable, and performant enterprise software systems and services supporting cancer clinical trials and research.
• Write maintainable code with unit, integration, and BDD tests.
• Produce architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, API documentation, and technical SOPs.
• Participate in Agile SCRUM planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and CI/CD delivery of JIRA features across all tiers.
• Manage task priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while improving engineering practices.
• Support interviews and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• 6 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, including experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience coding in C#/.NET, Python, Java, or comparable programming languages.
• Experience building enterprise software systems in Azure Cloud, using services such as Azure Container Apps or AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Queue Storage or Service Bus Queues, Azure Service Bus Topics or Event Grid, Azure Blob Storage, Azure API Management, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure AI Search, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Azure Bicep or Azure CDK.
• Experience developing systems backed by relational and/or NoSQL databases using ORM libraries such as SQLAlchemy.
• Experience developing microservices with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC that exchange JSON, XML, and other data formats.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Azure Fundamentals or Associate certification.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a technical field such as Computer Science from an accredited college or university according to CHEA.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code, including reviewing AI-generated code.
• Two or more years building enterprise software systems in a production Azure Cloud environment.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Two or more years working with CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Experience integrating with Okta and other third-party systems.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
