IT Systems Administrator (Defense Technology)

Location: Victorville, California, United States. Ability to travel and work extended hours and weekends as needed are required. U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required under ITAR.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 USD per year, base salary.

What you will do

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for employee hardware, software, accounts, connectivity, endpoints, peripherals, and infrastructure issues.
• Administer on-premises and cloud systems, including servers, core services, business-critical systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
• Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, identity services, workstations, laptops, mobile devices, software, VPN clients, and security applications.
• Perform patching, backups, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, endpoint management, software deployment, and device standardization.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, user guides, asset inventories, and knowledge base content while helping employees follow secure IT practices.
• Support security, compliance, hardening, audit readiness, infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and vendor collaboration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, systems administration, or a related role.
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, user and permission management, and endpoint support.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnets, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and endpoint issues.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of patch management, backups, access control, and system security practices.
• Ability to document procedures, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, communicate clearly, provide customer service, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to travel and availability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility requirements and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting hybrid environments with on-premises systems and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar endpoint and mobile device management tools.
• Experience with virtualization, backup, infrastructure monitoring, scripting, or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Experience in defense, manufacturing, aerospace, or another regulated environment.
• Exposure to NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Relevant CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, VMware, or cloud platform certifications.
