TL;DR
Software Engineer (Python): Building Python APIs and distributed asynchronous systems across orchestrated environments with an accent on object-oriented programming, database technologies, and CI/CD. Location: Hybrid in Houston, Texas, United States; onsite and remote work.

What you will do

  • Design and develop within defined projects and workstreams while working independently toward outcomes.
  • Build Python APIs using object-oriented programming.
  • Design distributed asynchronous systems that avoid data conflicts and operate across orchestrated environments.
  • Collaborate with functional developers to define, develop, test, and release features.
  • Provide workarounds and bug fixes for urgent production issues and support CI/CD practices.
  • Mentor junior staff and advise on functional and technical application issues.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience.
  • Python object-oriented programming and API development.
  • SQL and Oracle database technologies.
  • Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, Azure or AWS, GitHub, and/or message broker technologies.
  • Strong coding, testing, automation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with distributed asynchronous systems and DevOps/CI/CD.
