Senior Health Policy Analyst

Location: Washington, DC, United States; Flex hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Other listed locations include Helena, Albuquerque, Austin, Chicago, Tulsa, and Richardson.

Base pay: $102,000–$184,300 annually. An annual incentive bonus plan may also apply.

What you will do

• Support advocacy and public affairs initiatives related to state and federal health coverage policy.
• Research and provide recommendations for legislative and regulatory policy development.
• Build and maintain relationships with advocates, colleagues, government stakeholders, and external partners.
• Author analyses, newsletter items, fact sheets, and legislative briefing documents on health insurance and health care delivery.
• Represent the organization in coalitions and work groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in legislative and/or state agency work in the legislative process.
• Experience working with executive personnel.
• Project management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of state and local political and legislative processes.
• Verbal and written communication skills, including persuading policymakers and writing, editing, and disseminating complex information clearly and concisely for diverse constituencies.
• Independent judgment skills.
• PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word and internet-based legislative tracking programs.

Nice to have

• Healthcare industry and/or federal and state legislature or agency experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing health insurance and group health plans.
• Juris Doctorate, Master’s in health policy, Public Policy, or an equivalent degree.
