Compliance Analyst (Telecom)

Location: Hybrid, based out of the Waterloo, Ontario office, Canada.

Salary: CAD $67,000–$96,000 annually.

What you will do

• Investigate potential trademark infringements, gather evidence, report to required entities, and escalate issues when needed.
• Prepare regulatory filings and support internal and external audits, including SOC 2, by collecting evidence and organizing documentation.
• Support product and engineering teams with Data Protection Impact Assessments by gathering information, tracking reviews, and suggesting process improvements.
• Coordinate compliance training, track completion, and create educational materials for employees.
• Help draft and review policies and procedures, keeping them current as requirements change.
• Track compliance projects and deadlines, identify risks or delays, and build relationships with teams across the business.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in compliance, legal, risk, privacy, or a related role, ideally in technology, telecommunications, or another regulated environment.
• Foundational knowledge of regulatory and compliance concepts, with the ability to learn internal policies and applicable frameworks quickly.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• High attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain requirements to non-specialists.

Nice to have

• Exposure to privacy regulations such as PIPEDA or CCPA.
• Knowledge of trademark basics or experience coordinating training.
• Experience with GRC or compliance management tools, Jira, Confluence, or security awareness training platforms.
