Mortgage Loan Officer (Retail Banking)

Location: Tampa, FL; office-based. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States.

What you will do

• Develop and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage loan business.
• Advise customers on mortgage loan options and other financial products using consultative selling techniques.
• Support customers from loan approval through closing by securing and verifying information required for underwriting.
• Advise customers on completing loan applications and maintain ongoing client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
• Active NMLS license.
• Current authorization to work full time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Existing pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio mortgage programs.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Effective written and verbal communication, strong organizational, multitasking, PC, and internet skills.
