Director of IT (Molecular Diagnostics)

Location: Menlo Park, CA or Union City, CA; hybrid with onsite work 2–3 days per week.

Base salary: $217,585–$271,981 per year; eligible for an annual bonus and new-hire equity grant of up to $150,000.

hirify.global is a publicly traded molecular diagnostics company developing prenatal and cancer diagnostic tests using molecular counting technology.

What you will do

• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with company growth, and lead the IT team.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure as a service for the organization.
• Manage networking, servers, storage, virtualization, data centers, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Design and manage AWS infrastructure and services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC, with attention to scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Implement disaster recovery, business continuity, security, compliance, audits, and vulnerability assessments.
• Lead IT projects, vendor relationships, support operations, asset lifecycles, and IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Extensive experience with networking technologies, infrastructure management, and AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency with LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, and related networking technologies.
• Strong knowledge of server and storage systems, virtualization, and data centers.
• Expertise in AWS services, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with IT security protocols and compliance standards, including HIPAA and SOC 2.
• Leadership, team management, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• SOC 2 experience is preferred.
