System Operations Engineer (EO Ground Segments)

What you will do

• Coordinate operational activities across mission stakeholders, operations and engineering teams, service providers, and partner organisations.
• Prepare and support mission operations activities, including operational planning, readiness reviews, rehearsals, service transitions, operational acceptance, verification, validation, testing, and deployment.
• Perform system-level operations for satellite ground segment systems and services, monitoring availability, performance, reliability, operational readiness, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure.
• Assess operational impacts, risks, dependencies, and service continuity considerations for system changes, upgrades, releases, maintenance, and infrastructure evolutions.
• Lead the coordination, investigation, and resolution of anomalies, incidents, and service disruptions, including anomaly review boards, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and service restoration.
• Maintain operational procedures, documentation, interface control documents, configuration and change control processes, performance reporting, contingency planning, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent in engineering or a discipline relevant to the role, and/or proven experience in Earth observation ground segments and system operations.
• Proven experience in system operations engineering for complex Earth observation ground segments, including verification and validation of such systems.
• Strong analytical, synthesis, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux systems, preferably in an operational environment.
• Ability to rapidly learn and apply information from written and oral communications in a dynamic operational context.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
