Application Engineering Specialist (Adhesives)

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; requires working at least four days per week on-site. Travel may include up to 15% domestic and international travel. Relocation is not authorized.

Expected compensation: $145,676–$178,049, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Support the growth and execution of the global adhesives business by bringing new products, insights, and customer solutions to market.
• Lead voice-of-customer efforts for new product development programs and identify future market trends and product needs.
• Engage with customers and field sales to provide technical expertise, gather customer-specific needs and insights, and characterize products and applications.
• Support liquid adhesive dispensing and spray automation and create new application demonstration tools.
• Collaborate with product development, product engineering, and marketing teams, with a strong focus on New Product Introduction programs.
• Train customers, sales representatives, and international colleagues.

Requirements

• Completed and verified bachelor's degree or higher before starting.
• At least two years of Application Engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• At least four years of laboratory environment experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship, such as H-1B sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Polymer/Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• More than two years of experience working with adhesives.
• Proficiency in adhesive test methods and quality systems.
• Experience with adhesive dispensing and automation equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong people skills and the ability to influence, collaborate, and work with cross-functional teams.
• Self-direction, internal motivation, and proven leadership skills.
