Manufacturing Engineer, MBD

What you will do

• Convert customer packages covering welding, assembly, NDT, and machining requirements into linked model-based definitions.
• Review, correct, and classify errors in software-generated model-based definitions, working with the software team on improvements.
• Define standard workflows and quality checks for a larger engineering team.
• Review other engineers’ output against the definition standard.
• Train engineers and specialists joining the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in CAD modeling focused on drawings and product definition, including MBD authoring, drawing checking, or legacy-data conversion.
• Ability to read legacy prints covering welding, assembly, NDT, and machining callouts, including weld and NDT symbols according to AWS A2.4, and resolve ambiguity using referenced specifications and engineering reports.
• Knowledge of GD&T to ASME Y14.5 and MBD/PMI to Y14.41 sufficient to author definitions for direct manufacturing and inspection use.
• Experience with Teamcenter or a comparable PLM system, including assembly structure, part numbering, and release workflows.
• Ability to review another engineer’s work and convert recurring errors into preventive checks.
• U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Deep Teamcenter experience, including product-definition structure and governance.
• Experience writing requirements implemented by a software team as an expert user.
• CATIA or NX experience, including legacy-to-PLM migration such as CATIA to Teamcenter.
• Experience defining a process later run by a larger team in a fast, low-process environment.
• Submarine, naval, or defense-program drawing experience.
