Accountant - Shared Financial Services (6 months contract)

Location: Longueuil, Quebec, Canada (Hybrid); based at the company's head office near Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.

hirify.global Renewable Energy is an independent renewable energy producer developing, acquiring, owning, and operating hydroelectric facilities, wind farms, solar farms, and energy storage facilities in Canada, the United States, France, and Chile.

What you will do

• Complete the full accounting cycle for hydroelectric, wind, and solar construction projects and low-complexity corporate entities in a shared services environment.
• Record journal entries, reconcile general ledger and bank accounts, process sales tax remittances and revenue billing, and track prepaid and accrued fees payable.
• Account for inter-company transactions, fixed assets, and associated depreciation.
• Prepare monthly analyses and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial statements.
• Prepare annual audit files, ensure compliance with internal controls, and support financial statement analysis and corrections.
• Contribute to process improvement and complete special mandates as required.

Requirements

• University degree in accounting, or college education combined with relevant experience.
• Experience with the full accounting cycle.
• Fluency in French and English, both oral and written, is required for recurring collaboration with stakeholders outside Quebec.
• Excellent general software skills, including tools such as Great Plains and Acrobat.
