Senior Accountant (Digital Assets)

Location: Remote, based in Canada; ongoing Canadian work authorization required. Applicants must have the right to work in Canada at the time of application. Visa sponsorship is not available. Remote work from somewhere other than the home base is available for up to 180 days per year, subject to restrictions.

What you will do

• Maintain the full-cycle month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, working papers, and investigation of discrepancies across daily internal and external transactions.
• Account for fiat and digital asset transactions, customer custodial funds, loan revenue recognition, and new products.
• Support global consolidation and reporting, including foreign exchange, digital asset revaluation, and elimination of intercompany balances and investments in subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with Data, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to prepare reports and account for new products and transactions.
• Develop, automate, and test reconciliation and accounting processes using Snowflake, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other tools.
• Support external audits, research and document technical US GAAP positions, improve internal controls, prepare analyses, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including full-cycle accounting in a global, multi-entity environment with subsidiary accounting, reporting, and consolidations.
• CPA or equivalent license.
• Prior experience working with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including researching and documenting technical accounting positions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/Commerce.
• Intermediate SQL proficiency; experience with Snowflake or other data warehouses is an asset.
• Ability to meet deadlines and own complex areas, with strong analytical and database skills and the ability to work with large volumes of unstructured data from varied sources.
• Strong working knowledge of multi-currency transactions, multinational environments, and their impact on financial statements.
• Strong technology skills and willingness to learn new tools, including AI.
• Willingness to undergo applicable background checks in compliance with local laws and regulations.

• Understanding of crypto networks, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.
