First In-House Lawyer (AI/SaaS)

Location: On-site in Zurich, Cologne, or Munich, Switzerland or Germany.

What you will do

• Build and own hirify.global's legal function as the first in-house lawyer, reporting to the CFO and partnering with Sales, Finance, People, and Product.
• Negotiate customer MSAs, DPAs, and SLAs with enterprise procurement and legal teams.
• Create contract templates, negotiation playbooks, fallback positions, and approval rules for the Sales organization.
• Lead data protection and AI compliance across GDPR, the Swiss FADP, and the EU AI Act, and support security reviews and certifications.
• Manage corporate housekeeping for hirify.global Digital AG and subsidiaries in Germany, the UK, and the US, including board, shareholder, and cap table matters.
• Advise on employment law, intellectual property, trademarks, contracts, policies, equity plans, and the use of external counsel.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a B2B SaaS or technology company.
• Admission to the bar in Switzerland or another European jurisdiction.
• Ability to advise on Swiss, EU, UK, and US matters with appropriate external support.
• Hands-on experience negotiating enterprise SaaS contracts with large corporate customers.
• Hands-on GDPR and data protection experience, with close knowledge of the EU AI Act.
• Experience building a legal function, template library, or contract process from zero and working as the only lawyer.
• Pragmatic, commercial, and risk-weighted approach with clear advice in plain language.
• Fluent English and German.

Nice to have

• Experience with venture financing rounds, ESOP setups, or M&A.
• Background in ERP, finance automation, or AI products.
• Experience with ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits from the legal side.
