Director, IT Portfolio Management (AI)

What you will do

• Run the annual IT investment planning cycle with FP&A, including intake, prioritization, scenario modeling, quarterly refreshes, and executive engagement.
• Own the IT operating model covering investment standards, resource governance, QBR cadence, vendor management and renewals, and decision rights across IT and business owners.
• Lead the technical program management team, allocate TPMs to initiatives, reconcile capacity with demand, and maintain sizing models for committed, requested, and unplanned work.
• Standardize delivery governance through status reporting, a single source of truth, formal scope change control, project kickoffs, release readiness, and dependency and risk management.
• Track benefits realization through business-case baselines, named business owners, post-implementation reviews, portfolio dashboards, time-to-benefit, and variance reporting to the CIO.

Requirements

• Experience in strategy and operations, portfolio management, PMO, or program delivery within B2B SaaS or professional services technology, including leading program or project managers through performance management and capacity allocation.
• Direct ownership of an annual technology investment planning cycle, including scenario modeling and budget partnership with finance.
• Experience owning IT vendor management and renewals, plus an IT operating model covering intake, quarterly operating reviews, and resource governance.
• Experience building intake, scoring, and stage-gate governance adopted by the business.
• Fluency in business-case and benefits analysis, including ROI, payback, hard and soft savings, and baselines.
• Executive communication skills, including the ability to make data-driven decisions and reject requests when necessary.
• Hands-on comfort with portfolio tools such as Jira, Asana, or a dedicated PPM tool, and with AI tools for analysis and reporting.
