Director, Portfolio Performance & PMO (AI)

Location: Remote, with the role associated with Chicago, Illinois, USA; up to 25% travel required.

Salary: $148,750–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead PMO operations, portfolio governance, standards, controls, reporting, and contract compliance across a complex project and program portfolio.
• Monitor delivery performance, portfolio health, financial indicators, resource utilization, risks, milestones, and client commitments.
• Partner with client and account leadership on strategic planning, executive governance reviews, operational improvements, financial performance, and growth initiatives.
• Oversee dashboards, forecasting models, KPI development, business intelligence, data governance, and executive-level analytics.
• Lead PMO transformation through automation, AI-enabled solutions, digital workflows, analytics platforms, and portfolio management technology.
• Develop PMO personnel and oversee workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and talent development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, construction management, engineering, architecture, finance, or a related field.
• 12+ years of project management, portfolio management, PMO leadership, operational leadership, or program delivery experience.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in corporate real estate, capital project delivery, professional services, consulting, or financial services.
• Experience leading enterprise portfolios, PMO organizations, business transformation initiatives, and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced knowledge of PMO governance, project controls, portfolio management, business intelligence, risk management, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
• Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, portfolio management platforms, reporting systems, and business intelligence tools.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
